PRIVACY • EFFECTIVE JULY 31, 2026
This complete 18-section policy explains what the Android app does, what limited state remains on the device, and how users stay in control.
Effective July 31, 2026
Brightside CircleLab is local-only by design. It provides activity-planning content for adult facilitators and stores only limited preferences and anonymous session state in private on-device storage. It does not collect or transmit personal data.
The numbered sections below are the complete policy and match the policy presented inside version 1.0.0 of the Android app.
Policy contents
This policy applies to Brightside CircleLab for Android, provided by BRIGHTSIDE YOUTH ORGANIZATION, 1935 W 4700 S STE 132, TAYLORSVILLE, UT 84129, United States. Effective July 31, 2026.
The app is designed for adult youth facilitators, caregivers, guardians, and authorized volunteers who prepare supervised small-group activities. It is not designed for independent use by children.
CircleLab supplies original educational activity guides, a deterministic five-beat workshop builder, prepared conversation prompts, anonymous visual selections, general inclusion reminders, and source references.
The app does not collect or transmit names, email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, schools, photos, audio, contacts, precise or approximate location, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, health information, financial information, messages, usage analytics, crash telemetry, or diagnostic logs.
The app may save Reduce Motion, large-text choice, anonymous mosaic cell numbers, locally reviewed activity IDs, and the current builder selections. These records stay in the app’s private storage on the device.
CircleLab has no youth profile, attendance, behavior, case-management, incident, diagnosis, or free-text note feature. Facilitators must not use anonymous controls to encode a person’s identity.
The app requests no Internet, camera, microphone, location, Bluetooth, notification, contacts, calendar, SMS, call log, health, or shared-storage permission. Android may add an internal signature-protected component permission that is not a user-data permission.
There is no registration, login, password, profile, cloud account, or identity verification inside the app.
CircleLab contains no advertising, analytics, attribution, social, telemetry, crash-reporting, remote-configuration, or network software development kit. It does not track users across apps or websites.
Because the app does not collect or transmit personal data, it does not sell, rent, disclose, or share personal data with the organization, advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties.
The Source Shelf displays citation URLs as plain reference text. The app has no Internet permission and does not open or monitor those destinations. If a user visits a source separately, that site’s privacy terms apply.
Device-only preferences remain until the user clears them in Studio Settings, clears Android app storage, or uninstalls the app. Clear all local data removes CircleLab’s saved preferences and anonymous state.
Android backup and device-transfer are disabled for CircleLab. The app does not provide cloud sync or restore. Platform or device behavior outside the app remains subject to the user’s device provider.
Data is limited to private on-device preferences and protected by Android application sandboxing. No software or device can be guaranteed completely secure; users should maintain device access controls and current system updates.
The app does not knowingly collect children’s personal information and should be operated by adults in an appropriately supervised setting. It does not provide chat, profiles, direct adult-minor messaging, public sharing, or youth records. Safeguarding concerns belong in the setting’s authorized process.
Optional Reset Corner pauses are general educational ideas, not therapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or medical advice. For urgent safety or health concerns, involve a trusted adult and appropriate local emergency services outside the app.
Material changes will be reflected in an updated policy with a new effective date. Users may stop using the app and delete local data at any time. A future feature that changes data practices requires a matching app, listing, Data Safety, and policy update before release.
